Pull studs, retaining studs or retention knobs are the bolt like piece that is screwed into the arbor on a CNC milling or drilling machine. There are several different types of pull studs available to suit varieties of CNC machines, most pull studs are made to suit specific CNC machine brands. They often look similar and appear to be interchangeable, but in reality they are not.
Selection of the Correct Pull Studs:
- Specify the make model and spindle size of your machine.
- Make sure that the “critical dimensions” are correct. The retention knob print, usually found in the machine manual, is one of the best tools for selection of the correct knob.
